Call for Speakers
We are actively accepting speaker applications who are Santa Cruz County residents or are located near Santa Cruz County both for nomination and self applications. If you know of someone with a compelling message or possess one yourself that aligns with the TEDxSantaCruz mission, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
Our theme Rising Together
Our “Rising Together” theme suggests a scale of collaboration that currently doesn’t exist. As a society, we are facing huge challenges such as climate change, preserving natural resources, racism, poverty, lack of health care, homelessness, and educational inequalities. How do we rise together? How do we build effective and lasting collaborations? Our prospective speakers will address big ideas and solutions to challenges at the local, regional, national and global levels.

Our fifth all-day live event TEDxSantaCruz 2019 The Art of Hope was a rousing success that occurred Saturday, December 7, 2019 at the Rio Theatre.
You can see the videos of speakers and performers who explored The Art of Hope from nearly every angle, from civic engagement to climate change, from space exploration to self-exploration.
As TEDx Official uploads TEDxSantaCruz talks to their channel, we are actively uploading them here, on the website.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxSantaCruz, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxSantaCruz event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
